چکیده

It is critical for numerical scheme to obtain numerical results as accurate as possible with limited computational resources. Turbulent processes are very sensitive to numerical dissipation, which may dissipate the small length scales. On the other hand, dealing with shock waves, capturing and reproducing of the discontinuity may lead to non-physical oscillations for non-dissipative schemes. In the present work, a new high-order mixed weighted compact and non-compact (WCNC) difference scheme is proposed for accurate approximation of the derivatives in the governing Euler equations although the idea was given by Xie and Liu in 2007. The basic idea is to recover the non-dissipative highorder weighted compact scheme (WCS) where solution is smooth, while using a lower-ordered noncompact scheme for near-shock areas. Formulation and numerical tests are performed for the one dimensional case and results are compared with the well established weighted essentially nonoscillatory (WENO) scheme and WCS.

Weighted Compact and Non- compact Scheme for Shock Tube and Shock Entropy Interaction

[Abstract] In this paper, we introduce a new type of high order shock capturing schemes – uniform weighted compact and non-compact scheme (UWCNC) or simply XJL scheme developed by Xie, Jiang and Liu. This new scheme is based on the feature of discrete data sets instead of the physics. The fundamental task of CFD is to provide an accurate approximation of derivatives for a given discrete data se...

Comparisons of High Order Hybrid Schemes Using a Parameter-free Discontinuity Detector

In order to simulate accurately the interaction of shock wave/complex flows, hybrid schemes combining the compact scheme and weighted essentially non-oscillatory(WENO) scheme are beneficial, especially the high order low diffusion schemes used in smooth regions. There are two key issues, one is how to detect the discontinuity, the other is how to choose the high order low diffusion scheme to en...

Compact Reconstruction Schemes with Weighted ENO Limiting for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws

The simulation of turbulent compressible flows requires an algorithm with high accuracy and spectral resolution to capture different length scales, as well as nonoscillatory behavior across discontinuities like shock waves. Compact schemes have the desired resolution properties and thus, coupled with a nonoscillatory limiter, are ideal candidates for the numerical solution of such flows. A clas...

High Order Modified Weighted Compact Scheme for High Speed Flow (FOR AFOSR GRANT FA9550-05-1-0136)

The critical problem of CFD is perhaps an accurate approximation of derivatives for a given discrete data set. Based on our previous work on the weighted compact scheme (WCS), a modified weighted compact scheme (MWCS) has been developed. Similar to WENO, three high order candidates, left, right, and central, are constructed by Hermite polynomials. According to the smoothness, three weights are ...
